NEWBORN & Family PHOTO Session
The newborn studio session is such a sweet and memorable experience. It is often the beginning of a wonderful photography journey, as many families return for milestone, birthday, and family sessions—and their next babies!
The newborn family photo session is done in our Minneapolis photo studio. The session lasts about 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours and is baby-led, which means we stop for feedings as needed, and the baby is not fussing or crying. It’s very calm, and most babies sleep through their photo session. We can still create beautiful images for those who don’t want to sleep.
My studio is fully equipped with everything needed for the newborn photo session. With a beautiful assortment of fabrics, wraps, outfits, bonnets, and props. You are welcome to bring special things to incorporate into the session. Every detail is carefully chosen for each baby’s photoshoot.
Before the session, you will receive a photo session prep guide with what to expect and suggestions for what to wear. Lisa is always available for a consultation before the session. You’ll receive a session prep guide with tips on what to wear. Just be prepared for an extra feeding during the session.
When to Book: For the beautifully posed photos shown here, we recommend scheduling your newborn baby’s photo session between 7 to 14 days after the date of birth when your baby is still curled up and sleepy. Of course, we can photograph later, but it may impact the poses a bit. Family photos, including special setups with each parent and siblings, are always included.
Book ahead: It’s best to book a few months ahead of time so that I can plan and style, and it’s one thing off your list before life gets very busy! Pre-booked clients get scheduling priority, as the date is often adjusted based on your delivery date.
Newborn Session PRICING
The best way to get detailed pricing information and learn about our process is to contact us and schedule a quick phone or Zoom call. There is no minimum investment required beyond a retainer of $500. We offer full-length and petite sessions for most session types. For full sessions, most clients invest $1200 or more and $550 or more in a mini or petite session. We also offer baby plans with multiple sessions!
