Our fall mini sessions

Fall is my most popular session of the year, and it fills up faster than any other. Families come back annually, and I love watching kids grow up!

A fall mini is a 15-minute outdoor session at a location chosen specifically for fall light and color. It's a shorter, more relaxed alternative to a full session, and the photos look just as beautiful. Most families use them for holiday cards, wall portraits, or just finally getting an updated family photo.

Sessions start at $400, with retouched images delivered within two weeks and easy online selection and download. Additional images, prints, and holiday cards are all available directly from your gallery.

Locations

They are a big part of what makes these special. I scout spots around the Twin Cities and wider metro specifically for their fall color, light, and variety. Some locations come back every year because families love them, and new ones get added each season. The current lineup is on the booking page.

Kids do really well at these sessions and actually have fun! I love working with kids and making sure they feel at ease and can be themselves. It's a low-pressure session with no stiff posing, no long stretches of standing still. I've been photographing kids for a long time, and I'm comfortable with all ages and temperaments, including kids with special needs. Just mention it when you book.

Holiday Cards

Use our online holiday card ordering system to order directly from the professional print lab! Highest quality and very fast delivery. Choose from hundreds of card designs. Upgrades like foil lettering, custom addressing, and more are available.

Fall Mini Session Details

Location: New locations added every year! Please review the booking page for pricing and availability information.

Session Prep: After booking, you will receive a session confirmation with directions and the prep guide.

Weather: The sessions will take place unless the weather is so bad that we cannot photograph. Multiple options will be offered if rescheduling is necessary.

Timeline: Your private online gallery will be delivered within two weeks. From there, you can select and download your images. Additional images, prints, gifts, and other items will be available within your online gallery.

Holiday Cards: We offer a wide selection of press-printed cards and will send a link to the online card system along with your gallery link.

Additional Images: Additional digital images, prints, products, and gifts will be available to purchase after the session. Package upgrades are only available before your session date.

MINI SESSION FAQ

The most frequently asked questions about our mini sessions!

  • We have a generous cancellation policy. If you are unable to attend the session, it may be rescheduled, based on availability, or kept as a credit to use towards any other session.

  • The only time we cancel a mini session is if it’s actively raining or the temperature is dangerously cold. In either case, we keep an eye on the weather and will offer several rescheduling options.

  • Yes! We love having the family dogs at sessions. Please check with us to ensure they’re allowed, but most of the locations we use permit dogs.

    TIP: Arrive early and let your dog get familiar and sniff around well before the session. Also, tire your dog out before the session!

  • Usually, children do pretty well at these sessions because they’re low-stress, and I love working with kids and making them feel welcome.

    Please follow the advice of no pressure on children. Don’t ask them to smile or continually repeat directions that I give. Trust the process! I may ask parents to step out of eyesight briefly. There are lots of tricks!

    Even with fussy children, I can almost always still get some great photos.

  • We do not provide raw files or unedited images. The gallery will be culled down to 25-35 images. All will be retouched. You can select and download the quantity included in your package, and there is an option to purchase additional photos.

  • Your image gallery will be delivered within two weeks of your session.
