When should I reserve my newborn session? How old should my baby be for newborn photos?

There are enough pressures on new parents. Learn the best time to have your baby photographed, when to book the session, and that it doesn’t HAVE to be in the first two weeks!

This will be our third year for Minnesota beach photos! I grew up in Minneapolis and around Lake Minnetonka, and the lakes are such a big part of childhood memories.

These sessions are really fun for the kids, quick and easy for the parents, and create beautiful photos to document your family, especially as the kids are growing up.

Coordinating everyone’s clothing for fall family photos can be the biggest pain point for families. Let me help put your mind at ease and, hopefully, give some tips to make it much easier.

From the basics of avoiding bright colors, tight patterns, logos, and all white or all black, to the subtle color coordination without matching too much. And don’t forget the shoes!

When planning what to wear for your fall family photo session, think earth tones, rich textures, and soft neutrals like creams and taupes. Avoid bright whites and bold colors, and instead, focus on coordinating outfits that complement each other without being too matchy-matchy. Patterns like plaid can be great, but pull colors from the pattern into other outfits for balance. Most importantly, wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable—this will shine through in the final images. From casual denim and cozy sweaters to flowy dresses and scarves, the key is to embrace the season and have fun!
