FIRST BIRTHDAY CAKE SMASH PHOTOS

Birthday photo sessions are like mini parties in the studio!

Whether it’s a 30-minute mini birthday photoshoot with 1-2 outfits or a longer session with numerous outfits, balloon garland, family photos, and more. The prep guide has tips to ensure everyone arrives prepared without last-minute stress which is so helpful for a successful session. Children generally do very well at the birthday sessions; it’s usually age 2-3 when kids struggle a bit in photo sessions.

It’s best to plan the birthday session at least four weeks before the birthday or when photos are needed. The post-session work for image selection and retouching takes 2-3 weeks, depending on the number of images and products ordered.

I recommend a balloon garland on a solid backdrop, but custom backdrops can be ordered for a fee; please be sure to allow 2-3 weeks to get a custom backdrop.

We will work together to plan the design of your birthday photo session. The family provides the cake for the session. We’ll review timelines and how to make sure the session day goes smoothly. Some tips are to get the cake ahead of time and let the baby try a little cake so it isn’t so foreign at the session.

We have several cute outfits your child can wear (except for the cake smash part). We’re happy to advise on style and wardrobe either through email or on a call with Lisa. Many clients text outfits and easily review that way. The studio has a dressing room, private parking, and a seating area for parents to relax and enjoy the session. Plus, there is a wonderful coffee shop right across the street!

CAKE & BALLOONS:

Due to allergy concerns, the family supplies the cake. In addition to the session cost of $120, balloon garlands are purchased directly from our vendor.

PRICING

Please get in touch with the studio for detailed pricing. While there is no minimum purchase required beyond the retainer, most clients invest $1200 or more in a full-length session. Some petite versions of sessions are offered. Please contact Lisa for details.
