a little about me…
I was born and raised in Minneapolis, and while I lived in New York City for many years, I am now happily ensconced back in the Twin Cities with my young twin daughters. Since I can remember, I have been passionate about photography. From my disc film camera when I was a little kid, to my well-documented college years and then my reluctant switch to digital a few years ago (now love it!). To connect with people is what photography is about for me - connecting with you and documenting that in beautiful imagery.
In New York City, I was a documentary photographer. For years I traveled to third world countries to do photography projects (see personal work). Then I ended up volunteering at the World Trade Center recovery site after 9/11. For 9 months, I volunteered and documented the recovery effort – it was a challenging but rewarding experience (see Never Forget).
It’s all been a journey that has me photographing new life, family love, new love with weddings (and of course my passion for headshots). While photography is so much about the light, it’s also about the energy from the subject, the eyes, the movement – the connection.
